Electrical Design Engineer – Belfast

We are hiring on behalf of our client, an innovative and fast-scaling technology company based in Belfast, for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their advanced engineering team. The Role

• Develop and implement advanced electrical distribution systems, including LV/HV harnesses, power control panels, cabling, and associated support infrastructure
• Design system schematics, electrical architectures, and component BOMs
• Integrate complex sub-systems such as energy storage, thermal management, safety and control systems
• Participate in cross-functional design reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully integrated product solutions
• Assist with supplier selection, manufacturing documentation, and end-of-line testing
• Develop standards for electrical architecture, bonding strategies, cable specifications and more

The Person

• Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronic, Control, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years’ experience in electrical system design, ideally in high-integrity or electrified environments
• Solid understanding of LV/HV systems, component integration and electrical safety
• Skilled in CAD (Zuken E3, EPlan, AutoCAD or similar) and creation of schematics/wiring plans
• Experience in energy systems, hybrid technologies or high-performance electrical platforms desirable
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
• Strong communicator with a collaborative, delivery-focused mindset
