Job summary

MacGregor Black is seeking an Electrical Controls Systems Technician/Automation Technician for a FMCG manufacturer in Central Belt Scotland. The role involves removing, installing and updating PLC systems in a fast-paced production environment.

You will maintain PLC backups, diagnose faults and assist maintenance to keep plant efficiency. The candidate should have an HNC/TEC in electrical engineering, 3 years post-apprenticeship experience, and strong knowledge of electrical drawings and

Qualifications

• HNC/TEC level in electrical/electronic engineering.
• 3 years post electrical apprenticeship experience.
• Ability to read and understand electrical circuit diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Keep PLC programme backups current and secure.
• Support fault repair and efficiency improvements on plant and machinery.
• Record control faults, remedial actions and follow-up work.
• Assist Maintenance Manager to ensure regulatory compliance and plant efficiency.
• Collaborate with production management to respond to breakdowns.

Job description

Are you an electrical controls systems technician with experience in FMCG manufacturing?

Do you have experience of removing, installing and updating PLC systems in a manufacturing setting?

Do you have knowledge and experience of current I.E.E electrical wiring regulations and Electricity at Work Regulations?

MacGregor Black is working with a FMCG manufacturing business on the search for an Automation Technician. This is a permanent role based in Central Belt Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure the site has up to date backups of all PLC programmes
• To Support the repair of faults and in-efficiencies on plant and machinery.
• To Record Control faults, remedial actions and follow up work
• To work closely with and assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure compliance, and plant efficiency.
• To work closely with production management and respond to breakdown situations Control related

What We're Looking For:

• Qualified to H.N.C./T.E.C level in electrical/electronic engineering.
• 3 years post electrical apprenticeship experience.
• Proven ability to use and understand electrical test and measuring equipment.
• Working knowledge of both single and three phase distribution and control systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical circuit diagrams.
• Good working knowledge and experience of variable speed control drive systems.
• Proven diagnostic skills in a fast moving and demanding environment.
• Good working knowledge and experience of instrumentation systems.

Salary up to £60k + Benefits.
