Job summary

KBM Resourcing Ltd is seeking an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer for a 10-month role in Aberdeen. You will provide professional engineering support within an established team to deliver high quality, reliable products to the Oil & Gas industry.

Responsibilities include designing electrical systems, producing BOMs, and interfacing with clients and suppliers. CAD skills and experience with PLC/SCADA are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Engineering discipline, ideally Oil & Gas.
• Ability to understand commercial needs of a project.
• Ability to juggle more than one project and communicate with clients.

Responsibilities

• Specification, design, and documentation of systems and components.
• Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams design and documentation.
• Materials and services procurement and BOM production.
• Electrical interface design including cable schedules and layouts.
• Instrumentation on loop diagrams, PLC/SCADA IO lists, index, and panel design.
• Perform electrical calculations and manage material/labour costs.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and peers during daily activities.
• Oversee Junior Engineers and Technicians during design, manufacturing and testing.
• Proficient use of CAD to produce detailed design drawings.

A great opportunity has become available for an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join a well-established Electrical Company based in Aberdeen on a 10month basis. You will be providing a professional engineering service within the established engineering team ensuring the team delivers high quality, reliable products to the Oil and Gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• The specification, design, & documentation of systems & components.
• The specification, design & documentation of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• The specification, selection & procurement of Materials & Services.
• To produce Bills of Material.
• Electrical interface design including cable schedules, termination details and cable layout diagrams.
• Instrumentation on selection loop diagrams, PLC / SCADA I/O list, instrumentation on index, logic diagrams and panel design.
• To be able to perform electrical calculations.
• At all times to be conscious of material & labour costs.
• To liaise with Clients, suppliers & peers during normal day-to-day activities.
• To oversee Junior Engineers & Technicians during design, manufacturing & testing activities.
• Be proficient in the use of CAD packages to produce detailed design drawings.
