Job summary

Attega Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to deliver domestic renewable energy contracts across the UK from our Newcastle office. You will oversee contracts, subcontractors and delivery teams to ensure on-time, within-budget project delivery with a focus on quality, safety and compliance.

The role requires strong contract management experience in renewables, 18th Edition BS 7671, and knowledge of Solar PV, battery storage and energy efficiency upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience within domestic electrical installations.
  • Proven experience in contract management or project delivery within renewables.
  • Knowledge of MCS standards and renewable energy installations.

Job description

Electrical Contracts Manager
  • Location: Newcastle / National Travel
  • Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum DOE
  • Full Time / Permanent
The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join a growing renewable energy business and take responsibility for the successful delivery of domestic renewable energy contracts across the UK.

This is a key role within the contracting function, overseeing projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality, safety and compliance standards.

You will manage multiple contracts, subcontractors and delivery teams across a range of renewable energy projects, including Solar PV, Air Source Heat Pumps, Battery Storage and energy efficiency upgrades.

Working from the company's Newcastle office, you will have national oversight of projects across private residential and social housing environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end management of renewable energy contracts, from planning and mobilisation through to delivery and close-out.
  • Coordinate the installation and commissioning of renewable technologies, including Solar PV, Air Source Heat Pumps and Battery Storage.
  • Manage multiple contracts, subcontractors and delivery teams across a national portfolio.
  • Monitor project performance against SLAs, KPIs, budgets and commercial requirements.
  • Review, negotiate and administer contracts with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage contractual variations, claims, risks and disputes.
  • Act as the primary commercial interface with clients, providing regular project updates and resolving issues effectively.
  • Work closely with procurement, project management, legal and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant UK legislation, Building Regulations, MCS standards and health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and support to Contract Administrators, Site Supervisors and Project Coordinators.
  • Support the development of best practice, training and workforce competency across the contracting function.
  • Attend sites where required to oversee installation and commissioning activities.
About You:

We are looking for an experienced electrical or renewable energy professional with a strong background in contract management and project delivery.

You will ideally have:
  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience within domestic electrical installations.
  • Proven experience in contract management or project delivery within the renewable energy sector.
  • 18th Edition BS 7671 qualification.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of MCS standards and renewable energy installations.
  • Good understanding of Solar PV systems, including DC/AC string wiring and inverter technology.
  • Knowledge of battery storage systems.
  • Understanding of earthing, bonding and safe isolation procedures.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and delivery teams.
  • Knowledge of PAS 2035 and energy efficiency upgrades would be advantageous.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS would be desirable.
  • CSCS/ECS certification would be advantageous.
  • Additional qualifications such as scaffold inspection or First Aid would be beneficial.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, variations, risks and contractual requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
