Job summary

Rural and Country Energy seeks an experienced electrical professional to join our renewables team, specialising in Renewable installations. This hybrid role blends field work with office duties and leadership of installation teams, ensuring safety and high standards across projects.

You will work across Solar PV, battery storage and heat pumps, provide technical support to engineers, carry out audits, and help drive continuous improvement while delivering energy solutions to customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years electrical experience with fault-finding skills.
• 2+ years experience in renewable installations.
• 18th Edition wiring regulations compliance.
• NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation and City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent.
• Domestic EV charging knowledge is advantageous.
• Domestic Solar PV & Battery storage experience is essential.
• Willingness to hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Remote support to engineers on onsite installations via phone or live chat.
• Carry out desktop and site audits on pre- and post-installations to ensure compliance with latest standards.
• Provide technical support to customer service and aftercare teams.
• Regularly update the CRM with recommendations and technical information for each job.

We are looking for an experienced, fully qualified electrician who is ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in our growing Electrical division.

This is more than a standard electrician role. You’ll split your time between working alongside our team on site and taking the lead on technical standards, quality and day‑to‑day support across the division.

With projects covering renewable energy, heating, cooling and electrical installations, it’s a varied role with plenty of opportunity to develop your experience and progress into management.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced electrical professional to join and grow our current renewable energy team, specialising in Renewable installations. This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical experience in the renewables sector, who can also lead and support the management of the installation teams, ensuring we deliver safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. This is a Hybrid role that is both field and office-based and would suit someone who would like to apply their specialist knowledge, skills and experience to delivering energy solutions but wants to ultimately step back from installations daily.

Working across solar PV, battery storage and Heat pumps, you’ll play a key role in helping ensure our customers transition to cleaner energy while supporting and guiding our engineers on site. We would welcome candidates with full electrical or solar PV qualifications.

Alongside hands‑on electrical work, you’ll support our electricians and engineers, helping to maintain high standards across every project.

Your responsibilities will include:

• This is an field and office-based role where you will remotely support engineers with onsite installations issues, assist engineers offering technical advice and solutions on the phone or via live chat.
• Carry out desktop and site audits on pre and completed installations, to ensure the installation has been carried out to the latest regulatory standards, looking for any compliance issues that may require the engineer to re‑attend if the job is not 100% compliant.
• Offer technical support to all other departments e.g. customer service and aftercare.
• Update our CRM platform regularly to ensure all recommendations, technical knowledge and information is being recorded for each job.
• Driven to deliver a quality service and Excellent customer outcome.
• Willing to help all areas of the department to deliver the business needs.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Have excellent Customer Service Skills.
• Be a supportive team player and detail orientated.
• Prepared to learn new skills.

About You

We’re looking for someone who knows their trade, takes real pride in the quality of their work and is comfortable taking greater responsibility.

• We are looking for a reliable and well organised person with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Have a minimum of 5 years’ Electrical experience as well as having excellent fault‑finding skills.
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience in the renewable installations sector
• Have 18th Edition electrical wiring regulations.
• Have a NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation and City & Guilds 236 Part 1 and 2 or equivalent.
• Qualification & experience in Domestic Electrical Vehicle charging would be advantageous.
• Qualification & experience in Domestic Solar PV & Battery storage is essential.
• Experience in solar design to MCS standards would be advantageous.
• Experience in wiring domestic air source heat pumps would be advantageous.
• Hold a Full driver licence.
• Self‑motivated and able to work on own initiative but also integrate as part of a team and offer support to colleagues.
• Excellent organisational skills
• Clean DBS

Experience within renewable energy technologies such as Solar PV, battery storage or heat pumps would be an advantage.
