Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is recruiting an Electrical Apprenticeship Assessor to join their team. The role focuses on assessing Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in workplaces and on campus, with progress reviews, portfolio workshops, and curriculum support.

The successful candidate will hold Level 3 Electrical qualifications and an Assessors Award, with IT and admin skills, and a full UK driving licence for workplace visits. A teaching qualification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have electrical installation knowledge at Level 3 and above.
• Assessor/Audit qualifications or awards preferred.
• Good IT and admin skills required.
• Full UK Driving Licence required for workplace visits.

Responsibilities

• Assess Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in their workplaces.
• Carry out progress reviews and portfolio workshops.
• Coach apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards and core skills.
• Visit and support apprentices in the workplace.
• Support curriculum design and work-related training.
• Complete assessment, progress and apprenticeship documentation.
• Support onboarding of new apprentices.
• Develop and maintain employer relationships.

Electrical Apprenticeship Assessor

Location: Barking & Dagenham College, Rush Green, RM7 0XU

Salary: £39,319 - £45,052 per annum

Hours: 36 hours per week

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Apprenticeship Assessor to join the team at Barking & Dagenham College.

The successful candidate will assess and support Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices, helping them progress both in the workplace and on campus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in their workplaces.
• Carry out progress reviews and portfolio workshops.
• Coach apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards and core skills.
• Visit and actively support apprentices in the workplace.
• Support curriculum design and work-related training.
• Complete assessment, progress and apprenticeship documentation.
• Support the onboarding of new apprentices.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification
• Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification
• Assessors Award
• Level 2 English and Maths
• Experience teaching, training or assessing apprentices.
• Experience working with a training provider.
• Strong knowledge of the Level 3 Electrical Installation and Maintenance apprenticeship.
• Electrical industry experience.
• Good IT and administrative skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence - required for workplace visits.
• A teaching qualification is desirable.
