Job summary

NRL Recruitment seeks experienced Electrical and Control System Design Engineers for projects in Warrington, based at Birchwood Park. Roles offer permanent or inside IR35 contract options, with at least three days on-site weekly.

You will design electrical systems and PES-based control solutions, produce technical drawings, and support execution through procurement and commissioning within a regulated nuclear environment.

Qualifications

• Must-have HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Incorporated Engineer status is required.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary design projects from concept to handover.
• Experience in electrical design (small power, lighting, earthing) OR PES-based control system design.
• Strong communication and collaborative working ability.
• Gains SC level security clearance during employment.

Electrical and Control System Design Engineer Opportunities - Warrington

We're looking for experienced Electrical and Control System Design Engineers to join projects in support of decommissioning activities. Based at Birchwood Park, Warrington, these positions offer either permanent employment or contract opportunities (inside IR35). This is a great fit for professionals with experience in electrical systems or programmable control systems who enjoy working within multidisciplinary teams.

Salary

Competitive, with both permanent and inside IR35 contract options available.

Responsibilities

Must-have Requirements

• Programmable Electronic System (PES)-based control system design
• Minimum 3 years' experience delivering multidisciplinary design projects from concept to handover
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to provide design support during key project phases
• Ability to gain SC level security clearance

Nice-to-have Skills

• Experience with Trimble ProDesign (Amtech) and DIALux evo
• Knowledge of process instrumentation and specialist radiometric instruments
• Experience in SCADA/PLC system design and network architecture
• Background in leading design packages and mentoring engineers
• Chartered Engineer status and/or degree-level qualification
