Job summary

NRL Recruitment seeks experienced Electrical and Control System Design Engineers for projects in Warrington, based at Birchwood Park. Roles offer permanent or inside IR35 contract options, with at least three days on-site weekly.

You will design electrical systems and PES-based control solutions, produce technical drawings, and support execution through procurement and commissioning within a regulated nuclear environment.

Qualifications

• Must-have HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Incorporated Engineer status is required.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary design projects from concept to handover.
• Experience in electrical design (small power, lighting, earthing) OR PES-based control system design.
• Strong communication and collaborative working ability.
• Gains SC level security clearance during employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, review, and check design packages to meet functional and safety requirements.
• Develop electrical designs including small power, lighting, and earthing.
• Produce engineering calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Support construction, procurement and commissioning with design input.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to early-career engineers.
• Lead or coordinate design workstreams for senior roles.
• Contribute to progress reporting and planning activities.
