Job summary

The Unit Manager role within the MY Surgical Hub at Dewsbury is a full-time Band 7 position at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. You will lead the development and delivery of a multi-specialty elective surgical service and support GIRFT accreditation with the MDT and senior staff.

You will manage staff across a multidisciplinary team, liaise with booking and admin colleagues, and contribute to corporate priorities while ensuring safe, compassionate care and staff wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Nursing or allied health professional background with extensive clinical experience.
• Previous surgical experience and proven leadership experience.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Registered nursing degree and teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of the multi-specialty elective surgical service.
• Support and lead work towards GIRFT Accreditation with the Lead Nurse and MDT.
• Lead and manage staff across the multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with booking, reception and administrative colleagues.
• Attend divisional meetings across site.
• Cover the Band 7 Surgical Bleep Rota with training provided.
