William James Recruitment is assisting a well-established national law firm in Manchester to hire an EL/PL Litigation Executive. You will manage a fixed-fee caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims, within a hybrid working setup and a supportive team environment.

The role covers litigated and pre-litigated matters, with opportunities to develop technical expertise and progress within a collaborative practice that values client care and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a litigated EL/PL caseload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Confident liaising with solicitors and external stakeholders.
• Highly organised with strong ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong drafting skills for settlement documentation.
• Understanding of disclosure, CRU and medical evidence.
• Comfortable instructing Counsel and preparing matters for hearings.
• Good IT skills and experience with case management systems.
• Proactive, analytical and collaborative approach to case handling.
• Strong commitment to client care, quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Managing a delegated-authority EL/PL caseload from instruction to settlement.
• Handling litigated and pre-litigated matters, including PAD applications and Infant Approval Hearings.
• Drafting pleadings, Tomlin Orders and Consent Orders.
• Assessing liability, quantum and evidence to inform strategy.
• Instructing Counsel and experts; preparing for hearings and conferences.
• Negotiating settlements with opponents and external stakeholders.
• Managing disclosure, CRU, medical records and evidence collection.
• Supporting senior fee earners on complex matters.
