Job summary

WSP is seeking an EHV Cables Project Manager to join the UK Transmission and Distribution team. You will oversee pre-construction and construction activities for large-scale high voltage infrastructure, from design to energisation, at 33kV–400kV levels, including substations and related infrastructure.

You will develop and deliver EHV cable projects to meet time, cost, safety and quality targets, interface with clients and teams, and take on CDM Designer duties when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience managing medium-large scale EHV Cable projects (33kV up to 132kV) through full lifecycle.
• Good understanding of electrical distribution plant items (switchgear, transformers, overhead lines).
• Knowledge of applicable engineering standards.
• Strong HS and CDM knowledge.
• Ability to undertake Designer/Principal Designer roles under CDM regulations.
• Ability to travel to client sites in North East of England and Yorkshire.

Responsibilities

• Develop EHV (33kV to 132kV) projects from initial requirements to compliant engineering solutions.
• Manage development and delivery of EHV Cable projects to time, cost, safety and quality.
• Interface with customers and internal/external resources to deliver EHV Cable projects.
• Act as CDM Designer and/or Principal Designer for EHV Cable projects.
• Coordinate external service providers and administer commercial aspects.
• Visit sites to assess requirements, meet the project team, monitor progress and safety.
