Reed in Beccles is seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Manager to lead the EHS team, develop policies, and ensure compliance with UK and EU legislation. You will manage risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations while driving a proactive safety culture.

You will advise senior management on new EHS legislation and action plans, and support managers with Safe Systems of Work, Lean, 5S and Kaizen practices to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or NEBOSH level.
• Member of IOSH or equivalent with CPD.
• Previous experience in an EHS management role.
• Experience with Lean, 5S, Kaizen methodologies.
• Demonstrable record of driving significant change.
• In–depth understanding of UK and EU H&S legislation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Experience of carrying out risk assessments.
• ISO 90001/ISO 14001 (OHSAS 18001), ISO 14001 certifications.

Responsabilités

• Manage and update EHS policies, procedures, and training documentation.
• Ensure all EHS policies comply with legal requirements and align with group policy.
• Lead the EHS team to meet site safety requirements and drive a strong safety culture.
• Conduct risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Liaise with auditors and manage safety reporting.
• Lead safety meetings and audits; investigate incidents or near misses.
• Raise safety and environmental Capex requests as needed.
• Advise senior management on new EHS legislation and action plans.
