Job summary

Herbert Parkinson, part of the John Lewis Partnership, is seeking an HSE Assistant to support Environmental, Health and Safety standards and site compliance. You will manage EHS documentation and promote a proactive safety culture across the site.

Role is 38.75 hours per week on-site (Mon-Fri), with potential 07:00 meeting start times. Night premium (£4.25/hr) applies for eligible hours. Closing date 5 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification (or working towards).
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Exceptional organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of HS&E legislative requirements and developments.
• Conduct regular branch checks to ensure HS&E policies are followed.
• Ensure documentation aligns with standard templates and ISO accreditation.
• Review risk assessments and actively reduce risk.
• Support and drive HS&E initiatives through onsite representatives.
• Ensure reporting for Near Misses, Accidents and RIDDORs.
