Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is recruiting a Deputy Team Manager for the SEND Service to provide operational leadership for the EHCP Coordination team, ensuring statutory duties are delivered on time and to a high standard. The role requires strong leadership, safeguarding and collaboration with families, schools and health partners.

You will support service improvement, data quality and performance monitoring, and you may chair Multi-Agency Panels to ensure best practice and timely outcomes

Qualifications

• Leadership and people management experience within SEND or statutory services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse partners.
• Ability to interpret information, assess risk and drive continuous service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the EHCP Coordination team and deputise for the Team Manager as needed.
• Oversee complex casework, respond to complaints and MP enquiries, ensuring timeliness and learning.
• Support tribunal preparation, legal processes, risk management, and chair Multi-Agency Panels when required.
• Collaborate with families, schools, health and social care partners to build strong relationships.
• Lead service-improvement initiatives and monitor performance and data quality.
