Job summary

Gloucester Academy is seeking a Deputy SENDCO to drive inclusion and oversee SEND matters alongside the SENDCO. The role focuses on improving student outcomes, ensuring high standards, and deputising in the SENDCO's absence.

You will support access arrangements, complete assessments, and gather EHCP evidence while maintaining proactive communication with parents and safeguarding meetings related to SEND students.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience of supporting SEND students within a school setting.
• Degree in curriculum related subject with a strong academic record.
• HLTA qualification or other SEND support qualification (not essential).
• Experience in managing a team (desirable, not essential).

Responsibilities

• Support with Access Arrangements and SEND assessment screening
• Complete Assess Plan Do Review Meetings
• Gather together EHCP evidence in line with the application process
• Take part in parental meetings
• Ensure SEND statistics are current and accurate
• Attend and minute Safeguarding meetings relevant to SEND students
• Maintain contact with the parents of SEND students
• Promote a culture where students, staff and parents, have high expectations
