Job summary

Turners Ltd in Turners Hill is seeking an experienced Centre Manager to lead the EFL programme and guide a team of teachers, ensuring teaching meets British Council standards. You will oversee staff development and maintain high-quality processes across the centre.

You will run a buddy system, observe teachers, monitor lesson plans and student assessments, manage exams and reports, and ensure a positive, safe learning environment for all language students and staff.

Qualifications

• First-degree or equivalent.
• DELTA, Trinity Diploma in TESOL or equivalent.
• DOS/ADOS experience with the specified age group; able to lead and motivate staff.
• Independent and able to problem-solve.
• HSE First Aid certificate would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of EFL teachers and provide guidance and support to ensure high teaching standards.
• Run a buddy system for less experienced teachers and observe/appraise staff with feedback.
• Monitor lesson plans and records for variety, pace, and student challenge.
• Assess language students, place them into classes by ability, and match teachers to classes.
• Ensure safety, welfare, and behaviour of all students during English programme time.
• Oversee English language examinations, invigilators, and feedback when available.
• Ensure exercise books are up-to-date, work marked, and self-reviews completed; prepare end-of-week certificates.
• Act as cover teacher when necessary and run CPD sessions and staff meetings.
• Provide elocution guidance to activity coaches to link classroom learning with activity programmes.
