Job summary

Turners Ltd is seeking staff to support the activities programme for the summer school at Turners Hill and other centres. You will assist the Activities Manager, lead the activities leaders, and ensure sessions meet learners’ ages, pace, and language needs.

Qualifications

• Summer School staff experience preferred.
• Ability to motivate children and young adults of all levels.
• Strong communication skills with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Carry out coaching responsibilities and ensure registers are correct and all students are present.
• Assist Activities Manager in leading a team of Activities Leaders and provide guidance for planning and delivering high-quality sessions.
• Ensure sessions are delivered in clear, concise English and tailored to learners’ ages and needs.
• Check session plans, observe sessions, and ensure student participation, integration and enjoyment.
• Plan, organise and deliver excursions in line with the BSS framework and adhere to excursion procedures.
• Update daily activity choices in the database and keep registers accurate.
• Ensure appropriate transport arrangements for excursions and assign staff to groups.
• Maintain up-to-date risk assessments and obtain approvals for new activities when required.
• Capture footage for social media using BSS devices as directed, and help set up or pack away the centre.
