Job Description:
Mode Search is supporting our client with the appointment of a Sales Director to lead both their Retail and wholesale divisions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and design-led business.
The position is based in the UK and involves national travel. This is a hybrid role with flexibility required to support store teams and headquarters. The Sales Director will report directly to the CEO and sit as part of the senior leadership team.
The Role
- Define and execute a comprehensive sales strategy across multiple commercial channels including retail & wholesale
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across sales and customer-facing functions, instilling a culture of collaboration, commercial focus and customer excellence
- Manage all aspects of store operations in partnership with the area management population to ensure optimal performance, profitability, and visual presentation
- Provide strategic oversight to visual merchandising teams to ensure alignment between brand identity and commercial goals
- Monitor and analyse sales data to identify key trends, gaps and opportunities for growth and expansion
- Take ownership of budgeting and forecasting across all sales channels, ensuring financial efficiency and ROI
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including Marketing, Technology, Operations, and Customer Service to optimise the customer journey and sales conversion
- Act as an ambassador for the customer experience, handling escalations and implementing feedback mechanisms for continuous service improvement
- Recruit, train and nurture talent across the sales and design divisions, ensuring teams are motivated, engaged, and empowered to succeed
Requirements
- Significant senior leadership experience in multi-channel sales within the luxury retail or home sector
- A strategic mindset with the ability to drive commercial outcomes while maintaining brand integrity
- Proven track record of developing and implementing scalable sales strategies that lead to measurable growth
- Strong financial acumen and experience in P&L ownership and budgeting
- Inspirational leadership style with a commitment to people development and team performance
- A hands-on and collaborative approach with excellent stakeholder management skills
- Passion for design, interiors and delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Adaptable and solution-focused, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Willingness to travel nationally and be present in-store regularly
