Job description

The firm is offering a role in its busy and expanding Creative Industries department with a specialization in the entertainment and arts sectors. This is an opportunity for someone interested in accounting with some exposure to tax. The role involves dealing with companies in the Film, Theatre, Animation, and Video Games sectors.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Preparation of financial statements from client trial balances or books of prime entry.
  2. Liaising directly with clients to obtain missing information at the outset of a job.
  3. Answering client queries related to entertainment industry issues.
  4. Collaborating with all Creative Industries tax department staff.
  5. Establishing and maintaining good relationships with clients.
  6. Managing your own workflow and communicating progress with managers or heads of department.
  7. Working to statutory and client-imposed deadlines.
  8. Ensuring compliance with professional standards and ethics.
  9. Managing and updating the client database.
  10. Reviewing the client database and following up with clients whose period end has passed within 4 weeks.
  11. Performing clerical and administrative duties such as typing, printing, copying documents, answering the telephone, making appointments, and handling emails.
  12. Performing other tasks as required within the scope of the job.
Required Competences
  1. Highly organized with good planning skills.
  2. Good oral and written communication skills.
  3. Ability to compute figures rapidly and accurately.
  4. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  5. Efficient in time management.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  7. Maintaining office ethics and confidentiality.
  8. Good telephone manner.
  9. Proficiency in computer skills.
  10. Good team working skills.
  11. Ability to perform well without close supervision.
  12. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Education and Training
  1. Accounts preparation background is compulsory.
  2. Part-qualified in ACCA or qualified AAT.
  3. No prior experience in the Film/Creative industry is required, as full training will be provided.
