An excellent opportunity has opened within our IT department for an IT Support Engineer to join us and be based out of our operation in Southampton.

Reporting to the UK IT Service Delivery Team Manager, our ideal candidate will support the 24/7 Office Automation support of DP World UK Terminals. They will assist DP World UK employees with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software within established standards and guidelines.

Location: Southampton

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (Shift Pattern + additional on call shifts)

How will you contribute:

  • Ensure timely resolution of calls within agreed SLAs.
  • Record detailed information for call closures to aid future cases.
  • Install software on desktops, laptops, VMTs, printers, and more.
  • Prepare new equipment using Standard Operating Environment (SOE) images.
  • Support both corporate and personal mobile devices.
  • Monitor and maintain backup and restore procedures.
  • Continuously upskill staff on standard hardware and software, with a focus on Cyber Security.
  • Collaborate with vendor support to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in the on-call rota of the IT Service Desk Team.
  • Contribute to continuous business improvement and meeting business objectives.

What will you bring:

  • IT-related degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Microsoft qualifications and CompTIA A+ or equivalent are desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft desktop administration tools and server design technology.
  • Familiarity with large-scale corporate network topology.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport are essential.

  • A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads.
  • No unspent criminal convictions.
  • Health and safety requirements, including weight, height, blood pressure, and hearing assessments, are mandatory for safety-critical roles.
