Job Opportunity: Pharmacy Assistant at Cromwell Hospital

Location: Cromwell Hospital, Cromwell Road, London SW5 0TU

Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Shift Patterns: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, Saturdays 8:30am-2pm

About Cromwell Hospital

The Cromwell Hospital is a leading private hospital in south West London, offering outpatient and inpatient services. It features 180 beds, 4 suites, 6 theatres, full intensive care facilities, paediatrics, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, a dedicated day surgery unit, and private GP services.

Role Overview

As a key member of the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution Team, you will assist in providing a comprehensive pharmacy stores service to meet the needs of all service users. You will support the efficient daily operations under the supervision of a Senior Pharmacy Technician. Your responsibilities include stock distribution, procurement, and stock management, ensuring high-quality, safe, service delivery across pharmacy locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in purchasing and stock maintenance processes.
  • Coordinate wholesale orders, purchases, and deliveries.
  • Assist in distributing stock drugs to wards and departments.
  • Build professional relationships with suppliers.
  • Resolve supplier issues promptly and accurately.
  • Support service improvements to minimize medicine shortages and delays.
  • Assist procurement in managing out-of-stock items and suggesting alternatives.
  • Ensure all processes comply with GPhC, MHRA, RPS, Home Office, and CH SOP standards.
Qualifications and Skills
  • BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences or NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant (essential).
  • Experience in a pharmacy purchasing role.
  • Organized, analytical, proactive, and open to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
