Join Our Team as a Regional Delivery Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Delivery Manager to join our evolving team. We’re always on the lookout for top talent to join our growing business. We work hard, make quick decisions, and aim to meet our ambitious goals every day.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the business meets our clients' and customers' expectations by delivering an excellent customer experience through a team that engages self-employed couriers. The role is accountable for the performance of a team covering a designated region, driving target achievement, and maximizing the cost efficiency of the courier network to maintain and improve both contractual standards and service quality.

You will be accountable for:
  1. Managing regional performance targets and customer satisfaction by guiding, coaching, and managing a team of Community Delivery Managers.
  2. Influencing the regional budget, managing costs related to courier fees, contractor spend, ad-hoc payments, team expenses, and ensuring financial decisions support profitable regional operations.
  3. Maximizing courier service coverage through effective recruitment, engagement, retention, and change management to ensure high-quality, reliable service.
  4. Resource planning for couriers through pipeline reviews, advertising, and collaboration with the Resource Planner to ensure adequate coverage.
  5. Driving courier performance to support a seven-day operation via a team of Community Delivery Managers.
  6. Managing the delivery unit estate, including location procurement, management, and ensuring service provision aligns with quality, service, and productivity standards.
  7. Building and maintaining positive relationships with the GMB union to support self-employed courier recognition and positive labor relations.
  8. Ensuring a safe work environment by adhering to the Code of Conduct and SOPs.
  9. Maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Depot General Manager, through effective communication to enhance end-to-end parcel journey performance.
  10. Managing customer complaint escalation and resolution in collaboration with the Customer Services Team and Community Delivery Managers.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Qualifications:
  • Current UK Driving Licence
  • Level 3 Management Qualification or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Experience in coaching, supporting, and motivating colleagues
  • Problem-solving skills and contingency planning
  • Experience in managing local union relationships
  • Experience managing an agile team
  • Knowledge of the self-employed courier model
  • Experience in setting and managing budgets
Technical & People Skills:
  • Customer-focused approach
  • Ability to adapt to different styles and behaviors
