Legal Counsel

We are searching for an experienced Legal Counsel.

Make an Impact at RSM UK

The RSM UK In-House Legal Team enjoys a varied and dynamic workload, supporting RSM by proactively resolving legal, regulatory, and risk management issues and driving commercial improvements. The team currently comprises 11 lawyers, 2 paralegals, and dedicated administrative support.

We are looking for a Legal Counsel specializing in disputes within the In-House Legal Team, based in London or Manchester, reporting to the Head of Dispute Resolution.

You will collaborate with RSM's Audit, Tax, and Consulting Service Lines, as well as Core Functions, to manage risk and advise on a wide range of issues. You will have opportunities to work closely with senior management on specific issues and long-term projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Advising on and handling claims, drafting pre-action correspondence, preserving material, collating evidence, and managing claims to resolution.
2. Responding to regulatory inquiries and providing strategic legal input on matters involving bodies such as the FRC, FCA, and ICAEW.
3. Advising on issues such as Production Orders, Schedule 36 notices, anti-money laundering compliance, UK GDPR, FOIA requests, and conducting internal investigations.
4. Sharing knowledge and insights to improve processes and safeguard the business.

What We Are Looking For:

• Approximately 5-10 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience handling high-value, complex litigation and/or contentious regulatory matters, in private practice or in-house.
• Technical strength with the ability to form well-reasoned arguments and apply knowledge and analytical skills to new scenarios.
• Deep commercial awareness of the firm's strategy and activities, using that awareness to add value and support business success.
