Senior Pay & Reward Manager

Duration: 6 months
Rate: £350 per day
Location: Remote working with occasional travel to the client site when required, with options for London, Bristol, or Manchester.
IR35 Status: Inside
Start: ASAP

We require a Senior Pay & Reward Manager for our Government Client to focus on Pay and Reward for their digital and data profession (DDaT), which comprises over 25,000 staff across multiple departments.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Conduct market pay analysis to inform the drafting of new 2025 business cases for:
  • Senior Civil Service roles
  • Cyber roles
  • Current Government Digital and Data roles (updated for 2025 data)
  • Capture and analyze UK employment practices on bonuses and non-pay benefits to help develop a profession-led reward approach for future business cases.
  • Review and analyze departmental business cases to adopt or extend pay frameworks, focusing on:
    • Spreadsheet analysis of departmental data and savings estimates
    • Template completion
  • Support departments in implementation preparations and capability assessments.
  • Build a GDS library of documentation and agreements related to framework implementation.
  • Support the Pay and Reward Lead as necessary.
  • Skills & Experience required:
    • Strong analytical skills, including modelling pay data, drawing inferences, and testing models.
    • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and 'what-if' analysis.
    • Ability to influence stakeholders through oral and written communication.
    • Previous experience in a Pay and Reward role, using market data to design pay and benefit practices, and addressing related challenges.
    • Understanding of reward tools and practices, with evidence of their implementation.
    • Experience with external pay benchmarking and data analysis to inform strategy.
    • Knowledge of pay frameworks and reward tools.
    • Critical thinking skills, with evidence of analysis and challenging assumptions.
