The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the craft at Ryde are maintained in accordance with the relevant maintenance schedule.

Main areas of responsibility:
  1. Ensure that all maintenance requirements are provided in accordance with current legislation, MCA requirements, and maintenance schedules.
  2. Attend training and maintain a satisfactory knowledge of all operational and safety procedures to successfully complete all mandatory tests.
  3. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, management, and external contractors, carrying out all duties efficiently, professionally, and courteously.
  4. Communicate clearly and effectively with management, supervisors, and co-workers.
  5. Execute preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
  6. Conduct scheduled checks on craft, parts, and ground equipment.
  7. Diagnose and repair faults and breakdown problems.
  8. Overhaul and replace parts according to maintenance schedule.
  9. Maintain safety equipment, ensuring it is within certification dates.
  10. Conduct quality inspections on all work carried out.
  11. Respond to craft breakdowns and deal with emergency breakdowns as they occur.
  12. Ensure compliance with all Company Quality Management System and regulatory body requirements.
  13. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with documented safe working practices, Permits to Work, and department engineering risk assessments.
  14. Take responsibility for personal health and safety, and that of others in the working environment.
  15. Work required shifts to maintain Hovertravel operational service.
  16. Work on-call as required by Supervisors and in accordance with shift requirements.
