The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the craft at Ryde are maintained in accordance with the relevant maintenance schedule.
Main areas of responsibility:
- Ensure that all maintenance requirements are provided in accordance with current legislation, MCA requirements, and maintenance schedules.
- Attend training and maintain a satisfactory knowledge of all operational and safety procedures to successfully complete all mandatory tests.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, management, and external contractors, carrying out all duties professionally and courteously.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with management, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
- Conduct scheduled checks on craft, parts, and ground equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults and breakdown problems.
- Overhaul and replace parts according to maintenance schedule.
- Maintain safety equipment ensuring it is within certification dates.
- Conduct quality inspections on all work carried out.
- Respond to craft breakdowns and deal with emergency breakdowns as they occur.
- Ensure compliance with all Company Quality Management System and regulatory body requirements.
- Carry out all work in accordance with documented safe working practices, Permits to Work, and department engineering risk assessments.
- Take responsibility for personal health and safety, and that of others in the working environment.
- Work required shifts to maintain Hovertravel operational service.
- Work on-call as required by Supervisors and in accordance with shift requirements.
