Job description

Intermediate Structural Engineer

We are seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer for our client, a multi-disciplinary UK-wide consultancy experiencing growth. The role is based from their offices in Cambridge or Oakham, with hybrid working options.

Responsibilities:

1. Support local and national engineering teams on various projects, including structural surveys, report preparation, calculations, design, and drawing of residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
2. Provide advice to the insurance sector and assist with regional frameworks.
3. Produce structural reports, design calculations, and CAD drawings.
4. Obtain planning and/or building regulation approvals.
5. Conduct site inspections and client visits.
6. Monitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors.
7. Administer contracts and manage projects.
8. Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of each project.

Requirements:

• Degree in Structural Engineering or a similar discipline, accredited by IstructE or ICE.
• Preferably 2+ years post-graduate experience within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
• Knowledge of legal requirements including CDM2015, Part Wall, and Listed Buildings.
• Experience in consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning.
• Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets.
• Keen to progress quickly and achieve chartership with IstructE or ICE.
• UK Driving Licence.
