A specialist research services company in the life sciences sector is looking to expand its commercial team with a Senior Sales Manager / Business Development Specialist. This is a hands-on role focused on building new client relationships and driving commercial growth through strategic outreach and consultative selling.

This role sits within a small but growing organisation that offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to contribute to meaningful, long-term impact in the health research space.
Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities across a range of scientific sectors
  • Manage the full sales process from lead generation through to proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with scientific and commercial decision-makers
  • Represent the business at relevant events and meetings to raise profile and generate leads
  • Maintain a well-organised sales pipeline and provide insights on market trends and client needs
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in business development or sales within life sciences, biotech services, or adjacent fields
  • Able to engage confidently in science-based conversations with potential clients
  • Comfortable working in a small, adaptable team and taking ownership of outcomes
  • Familiar with CRM systems and data-driven sales processes
  • Motivated by long-term relationship-building rather than short-term wins
