YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?
- Based from the Guildford Office
- Technical leadership of a variety of land and engineering site surveys with respect to briefs and specifications
- Managing resources over the Southern teams
- Quality Assurance, processing and checking of projects, whilst rigorously adhering to, and ensuring, that the prevailing standards of WSP are met
- Taking ownership for the successful delivery of projects/programmes; giving leadership and direction to the Southern team, effectively communicating with all parties, identifying and managing risks, planning and progress monitoring in respect to technical and financial considerations. Following WSP’s Business Management System
- Business development in the Southern regions, bidding for new opportunities and coordinating ongoing bids.
- Assist the management team to develop and maintain the team to cover the Southern and Midland regions
- Regular contact with all senior team members to ensure the efficient use of UK wide staffing resources
- Supervision and mentoring of junior members of the team
YOUR TEAM
- Surveying Services (UK)
- Working within a team of 36 Surveyors based UK wide, consisting of Topographical, Measured Building & Buried Services Surveyors and UAV Pilots.
- Working on surveying projects UK wide
- Varied client base from Local Authorities to Multi-Discipline Consultants
- Reporting to the survey team lead
- Hardworking
- City based offices, with excellent transport links and surrounding area includes shops/café/parking train station
- Surveying Services promote the power of joined-up geospatial technologies to bring locational data alive
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
- A relevant technical degree in surveying or a related discipline, with significant experience in a similar role, Typically 15+ years
- Ability to manage and mentor staff
- Membership of or working towards a membership of a professional body
- Comprehensive understanding of project and commercial considerations
- Competent in the use of total stations, GNSS & terrestrial laser scanners
- Competent in the use of relevant software including N4ce, StarNet, Trimble Business Centre (or similar), Cyclone, Cyclone 3DR and AutoCAD
- Experience in the planning and piloting of UAV’s Surveys would be advantageous but not essential
- Experience in carrying out Buried Services Surveys would be advantageous but not essential
- Good problem solving, self-management and people skills
- Actively champion sharing knowledge, ideas and intelligence
- Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team
- The applicant must have a full UK driving licence as the role will require travel around the country
