Job summary

Kirklees Council is advertising for an Educational Teaching Assistant at Crossley Fields J & I School in West Yorkshire. This fixed-term post runs until 31 August 2027 and is 32.5 hours per week during term time plus one additional day.

The successful applicant will support pupils with Special Educational Needs and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment. We are seeking someone who can promote positive behaviour, work with teachers, and help prepare engaging learning resources

Qualifications

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including behavioural, emotional, mental health and communication needs.

Responsibilities

• Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and resilience in pupils.
• Work as part of a team of teachers, ETA colleagues and parents.
• Contribute to the preparation of learning resources and an engaging classroom environment.
• Support pupils' positive behaviour and play at lunchtimes.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Have a positive, solution-focused approach to supporting pupils to be the best version of themselves.
