Job summary

Kirkburton First School in Huddersfield is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Educational Teaching Support Assistant to work in classrooms and support in the After School Club. The role offers both full-time and part-time hours, starting January 2027, with placements in both daytime lessons and after-school activities.

You will be part of a collaborative team, helping a pupil with medical needs, communicating effectively with children and staff, and upholding the school's Christian ethos.

1:1 Educational Teaching Support Assistant

Our Governors are seeking to employ a skilled and inspirational Educational Teaching Assistant to work in classrooms and also support in our thriving After School Club.

During the afternoon session you would be supporting pupils learning, before transitioning into our After School Club.

As an Educational Support Assistant, you will be supporting the learning of a pupil with medical needs. You will be a resilient person who is looking for a challenge in providing great support in this role. You will support teaching in the classroom during lesson time.

The ability to relate to children/young people from diverse backgrounds is essential for this job, as well as having good verbal communication skills in order to liaise with children/young people and other staff members.
