Cardiff Educational Psychology Service is composed of friendly, highly motivated educational psychologists with diverse experience and interests.
This is a time of change for the Service, offering opportunities to engage in strategic developments within the Local Authority and support the Inclusion Service and schools in advancing ALN reform.
We provide access to a laptop, smartphone, and flexible working arrangements.
The Service invests in its workforce, participating in CPD activities, joint training with neighboring EP Services, and supporting staff in developing specialized interests.
We maintain strong links with Cardiff University, hosting Educational Psychologists in Training and facilitating research collaborations.
Working within the Service offers a great opportunity to work in the vibrant, diverse capital city of Wales.
We are eager to appoint a fully qualified educational psychologist starting from September 2025, or possibly sooner.
Applications from Year 3 Trainee Educational Psychologists finishing training in 2024 will also be considered.
The role involves a range of duties, both school-focused and strategic, with opportunities to collaborate within the EPS and broader education services to align with the Education Service's vision and plans.
There will be opportunities to influence the future direction of the Educational Psychology Service.
The post includes responsibility for a group of schools and settings, supervision of trainees, and participation in task groups.
Our service delivery is based on a consultation model.
Support via peer and line management supervision and a comprehensive induction program will be provided.
We seek an Educational Psychologist with the knowledge, skills, and experience to contribute to the EPS's development.
You will:
You should have a good understanding of how Educational Psychology can positively impact children and young people, along with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with partners.
