Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils 1:1 and deliver targeted small-group interventions across Wakefield and surrounding areas. These long-term positions offer stability, ongoing professional development, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Ideal candidates will have experience with children in education, strong communication skills, and a nurturing approach.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build rapport with secondary-aged students.
Experience supporting SEND/SEMH/Autism/ADHD is highly desirable.
GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for students with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs.
Deliver planned intervention sessions to small groups of pupils.
Support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving learning objectives.
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
Promote positive behaviour and support students' social and emotional development.
