Job summary

Protocol Education seeks dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils in secondary schools across Wakefield, delivering 1:1 support and targeted small group interventions to help students reach their academic and personal potential.

This long-term, full-time role offers competitive daily rates, ongoing training, and a supportive environment with a dedicated recruitment consultant to assist throughout placements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in education.
• Patient, resilient, nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport with secondary-aged students.
• Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs is desirable.
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for students with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs.
• Deliver planned intervention sessions to small groups of pupils.
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving learning objectives.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
• Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and support students' social and emotional development.
