Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School in Bury, Manchester on day-to-day, short-term or long-term assignments. You’ll support pupils and work closely with teaching staff to deliver inclusive learning.

Great for new or experienced TA professionals who value wellbeing, strong relationships with pupils and a collaborative school culture. Training, support and ongoing CPD are provided through Milk Education.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience working in a school, college or education setting.
  • Solid literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or a similar subject — or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Comfortable taking direction from teaching staff and working effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, responding to their individual needs
  • Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps
  • Working alongside teaching staff to adapt resources and support lesson delivery
  • Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels valued and able to learn

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
