Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a proactive Compliance Officer to join our education recruitment team in Leeds. You will lead vetting and safeguarding checks, liaise with schools and authorities, and maintain accurate compliance records to ensure high safeguarding standards across the branch.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, plus experience with MS Office and CRM systems. Training and progression opportunities are provided in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out vetting and compliance checks including Right to Work and identity verification.
• Conduct DBS, safeguarding, and disqualification checks.
• Verify qualifications and training, employment history, references and prohibitions.
• Follow up with candidates and consultants for outstanding documentation.
• Assist Consultants with compliance queries and promote safeguarding best practice.
• Escalate safeguarding concerns when needed to management.
• Liaise with schools, Local Authorities, referees and professional bodies.
• Maintain accurate records and input data into internal systems.
• Produce weekly compliance reports for Management.
• Ensure branch activity complies with legislation and company policies.
