Job summary

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust seeks an Education Mental Health Practitioner to support children and young people in schools across North and East Dorset. An accredited PGDip EMHP is required to be eligible for this role. A relocation package of up to £10,000 is offered; visa sponsorship is not available.

You will deliver early mental health interventions, collaborate with education staff, and promote wellbeing while working under supervision and within governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• Evidence of degree-level study.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• IT literate.
• Evidence of successfully working within a team.

• Car driver with access to vehicle for work.
• Evidence of working with children and young people.
• Understanding of safeguarding/risk.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based mental health interventions for children and young people.
• Identify those needing additional support and facilitate access to services.
• Collaborate with school staff to support mental health and wellbeing.
• Build partnerships with education settings to improve access to support.
• Promote integrated care across education and mental health services.
• Use professional knowledge to deliver safe, person-centred support.
• Work within governance frameworks and seek supervision.
