Job summary

NHS Greater Manchester is recruiting an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) in Oldham MHST to deliver evidence-based CBT interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health issues within school and education settings.

Applicants must have completed the 1-year Post Graduate Certificate in Education Mental Health Practice and must be registered with BABCP or BPS. Trainee EMHPs due to finish training in September 2026 are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Expertise within EMHP role, with Education Health Practice for Children and Young People.
• Must be Accredited with the BABCP/BPS.
• Training in related health disciplines or psychology.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
• Develop skills in supporting children, families and educators in self-management of presenting difficulties.
• Develop and practice evidence-based skills and collaborate on treatment plans with families and schools.
• Work in collaboration with children, young people and parents/carers to formulate agreed treatment plans.
