Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is helping a school in Reading recruit an experienced HR Manager to provide practical HR support across all areas. You will work alongside senior leaders to manage staffing, guide managers on employee relations, and ensure clear, consistent guidance for staff throughout their time at the school.

You’ll coordinate recruitment, onboarding, staff changes and safer recruitment checks, while maintaining HR records and reviewing policies.

Qualifications

• Experience at management or senior advisory level in HR.
• Solid understanding of UK employment law.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, onboarding and staff changes.
• Advise managers on employee relations, absence and performance.
• Support disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Maintain accurate HR records and reporting.
• Review policies and ensure procedures remain up to date.
• Coordinate training, appraisals and safer recruitment checks.
