Job summary

AWD Recruitment Limited is recruiting an HR Manager for an education trust based in Portishead, North Somerset. The role leads a broad People function, supporting schools and central teams, with travel between sites.

Reporting to the Director of People, the HR Manager will oversee day-to-day HR delivery, line manage HR Assistants and ensure compliant, high-quality HR services across campuses. 37 hours weekly, permanent contract.

Qualifications

• CIPD Chartered Member with a CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent
• Senior operational HR experience at Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner level
• Experience managing complex employee relations casework
• Experience leading organisational change and restructurings
• Experience advising senior leaders and interpreting employment law
• Understanding of education HR, safeguarding and safer recruitment requirements
• Experience managing HR staff or teams
• Strong investigative, analytical and communication skills
• Knowledge of HR service management, GDPR and data protection
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational HR delivery and line manage HR Assistants
• Provide expert advice on employee relations, safeguarding and compliance
• Lead organisational change, TUPE activity, and restructurings
• Oversee recruitment, workforce planning and probation processes
• Drive HR systems development, data integrity and reporting
• Monitor service performance, SLAs and risks with continuous improvement
• Support senior leaders and deputise for the Director of People
