Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking experienced and dynamic Health and Safety Officers to join the Schools Health & Safety Officer Service. You will provide health and safety advice and support to Headteachers, Governors and school staff to improve standards across the Education Sector.

The role requires delivering audits, inspections, risk assessments and accident investigations, plus presenting safety information to ensure staff, pupils and visitors are safeguarded. Full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering health and safety support in schools or education settings.
• Proven track record advising on health and safety issues and audits.
• Ability to prioritise tasks to meet service targets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide H&S advice and support to headteachers and school staff.
• Undertake audits, inspections, risk assessments and accident investigations.
• Deliver presentations and briefings on workplace health and safety topics.
