Powys County Council is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support Education. You will provide high-quality financial advice, analysis and interpretation to budget holders and finance colleagues, underpinning decision making and performance management.

You will lead a small team, ensuring the department delivers timely financial information, manages budgets and supports the Council’s statutory and governance requirements.

Qualificações

• CCAB qualified accountant or nearing qualification with budgeting and accounting background.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels and ability to influence.

Responsabilidades

• Act as a valued partner to budget holders, providing independent financial advice and challenge.
• Coordinate revenue and capital budgets and align them with council strategies.
• Liaise with budget holders, provide training and guidance on financial regulations and codes of practice.
• Contribute to year-end processes and ensure timely closure of accounts with supporting papers.
• Extract and collate data for grant claims and returns, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide financial management information to support sound decision making.
