Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a School Finance Advisor to support schools and academies with financial management, budgeting, compliance, and strategic planning. The role reports to the Head of Professional & Business Services and operates across County Hall and school locations.

You will deliver a full financial management service, help schools manage finances effectively, ensure statutory compliance, and identify opportunities to grow the service and revenue.

Qualifications

• Finance qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 4 or bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Diploma in School Business Management desirable.
• Proven ICT experience at SFIA level 2 in a large ICT environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive school-based financial management service with budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare, monitor, and evaluate annual and multi-year budgets and forecasts.
• Produce financial reports for school leaders, managers, and governors.
• Identify opportunities to grow the service and revenue while maintaining compliance.
