Job summary

Berkeley Scott is seeking an experienced School Catering Chef Manager for Worcester. The role focuses on leading a school kitchen, planning menus, and delivering nutritious meals for pupils and staff on a Monday–Friday pattern.

You will manage a kitchen team, ensure high hygiene standards and dietary compliance, and travel to client locations when needed. Immediate start available for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef Manager or in catering management.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check.
• Driving licence beneficial but not essential.
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• Food Allergen Awareness certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen management.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day running of the school kitchen and catering service.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals for pupils and staff.
• Plan menus meeting school requirements and dietary needs.
• Lead and organise kitchen staff.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety.

Berkeley Scott is currently recruiting for an experienced School Catering Chef Manager in Worcester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled chef with management experience who is looking for regular weekday work, competitive pay and the opportunity to oversee a school catering service.

We are looking for a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Chef Manager who can lead a kitchen team, oversee daily catering operations and ensure pupils and staff receive high-quality meals while maintaining excellent food safety standards.

What you will be doing

• Managing the day-to-day running of the school kitchen and catering service.
• Preparing, cooking and serving meals for pupils and staff.
• Planning menus to meet school requirements and dietary needs.
• Leading, supporting and organising kitchen staff.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Managing food allergens and preventing cross-contamination.
• Ensuring food safety procedures and relevant regulations are followed.
• Travelling to alternative locations where required by the client.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef or in a similar catering management role.
• A valid Enhanced DBS check.
• A driving licence is beneficial but not essential, as occasional travel to other locations may be required.
• Food Safety Level 2 certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• Food Allergen Awareness certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and allergen management.
• A reliable, punctual and flexible approach.
