Job summary

Berkeley Scott Education seeks experienced Chefs to work across schools in Henley-on-Thames and surrounding areas. Roles offer flexible hours, regular shifts and immediate starts, with DBS Child Workforce checks preferred.

Berkeley Scott Education is currently recruiting experienced Chefs to work across a range of schools and educational settings in Henley-on-Thames, Reading, Maidenhead, High Wycombe, Marlow, Wallingford and the surrounding areas.

Pay Rate

£16.00 - £20.00+ per hour, depending on the school, assignment, location, experience, responsibilities, and other factors.

The Role

As a Chef, your responsibilities may include:

• Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals for students and staff


• Managing your section and supporting the wider kitchen team


• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety


• Ensuring allergen and dietary requirements are adhered to


• Assisting with stock control and food ordering


• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Chef position


• Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens, and health & safety regulations


• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment


• Reliable, professional, and hardworking


• Strong team player with a positive attitude


• Own transport is beneficial but not essential

Essential Safeguarding Requirement

As these roles are based within schools and educational environments, safeguarding requirements apply.

- You must hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate for the Child Workforce, preferably registered on the Update Service, or

- Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Child Workforce check before starting work.

Please note: Basic DBS, Standard DBS, and Adult Workforce DBS certificates are not suitable for these positions. All successful applicants must have a valid Enhanced DBS for the Child Workforce before working within a school.
