Job summary
Holroyd Howe in Cambridge is seeking a General Assistant to support our education catering service at a prestigious independent boarding school. You will help with daily kitchen tasks, food service and front-of-house duties to ensure high standards of cleanliness and excellent student meals.
Working as part of a friendly team, you will receive training on safety and customer service, with opportunities for development.
Qualifications
- Experience in education catering is preferred.
- Experience with food preparation is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Clean pots, pans, plates and cutlery to high hygiene standards.
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently.
- Clean floors, surfaces, walls and appliances to safety standards.
- Assist in preparation and serving of meals according to menus.
- Maintain front of house cleanliness and organise dishes.
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures for safety.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
- Provide friendly service to students and staff during meals.
- Participate in training on food safety and customer service.
- Ideally have experience in education catering.
- Have food preparation skills and experience.
