Job summary

Shropshire Council is seeking an Education Advice and Support Officer to work under the Head of Virtual School and Access to Education. The role supports improved educational outcomes for vulnerable learners through supervision, advisory input and solution-focused approaches to challenges to their education, achievement and progress.

Fixed Term for 12 months. The post holder will contribute towards progressing outcomes, recording and reporting on development as agreed with the Head of service

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable learners and applying solution-focused approaches.
• Ability to attend meetings and identify issues in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Identify issues, attend meetings, provide advice and use solution-focused approaches to support vulnerable learners.
• Contribute to improving outcomes, and record/report progress in line with national and local strategies.
