Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting an Education Support Officer to join the Virtual School in Morpeth. You will work with schools, care teams and settings to ensure every looked-after child has a high-quality Personal Education Plan in statutory timescales.

The role includes oversight of Year 11 pupils with complex needs, helping them progress to Year 12 and ensuring suitable EET pathways, plus 1:1 mentoring, attendance support and therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience with children and young people in KS4/5 is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the education of children in care and care leavers to ensure a high-quality PEP within statutory timescales.
• Oversee cared for children in Year 11 with complex needs to support progression to Year 12 and appropriate EET pathways.
• Provide 1:1 mentoring, behaviour support, attendance support and therapeutic interventions where needed.
