Shropshire Council is seeking an Education Advice and Support Officer to work under the Head of Virtual School and Access to Education. The role supports improved educational outcomes for vulnerable learners through supervision, advisory input and solution-focused approaches to challenges to their education, achievement and progress.
Fixed Term for 12 months. The post holder will contribute towards progressing outcomes, recording and reporting on development as agreed with the Head of service

The primary focus of the post will be to work under the direction of the Head of Virtual School and Access to Education (and relevant Senior Leaders in the team) as part of the professional team to support improved educational outcomes for our vulnerable learners.
Within an agreed system of supervision, the Education Advice and Support Officer will use their skills and knowledge to identify issues, attend meetings, provide advice and use solution-focused approaches to overcome challenges faced by our vulnerable learners that can impact on their education, achievement and progress.
The post holder will be expected to contribute towards progressing outcomes, recording and reporting on development as agreed with the Head of service and in accordance with national and local strategies/plans for this group of young people.
Fixed Term for 12 months.
