Job summary

Pertemps Coventry is seeking an EDM/Wire EDM Operator to join a bespoke service within the aerospace and general engineering sector. You will bring extensive EDM/Wire EDM experience, reading drawings and setting up parts on machines, in a small, skilled team.

The role requires programming and operating AGIE Charmilles and similar EDM equipment, with strict attention to tight tolerances, measurement checks, and health and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive EDM/Wire EDM experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in setting up programs on EDM machines.
• Proficient in shop floor measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate EDM/Wire EDM machines to specification.
• Set up parts using drawings and control programs.
• Maintain tight tolerances and high accuracy.
• Monitor quality and perform routine checks.
• Collaborate with a small team of engineers.

EDM/WIRE EDM OPERATOR

THIS IS AN INTERESTING POSTION WORKING FOR A REPUTALBE COMPANY OFFERING A BESPOKE EDM/WIRE SERVICE WITHIN THE AEROSPACE/GENERAL ENGINEERING INDUSTRY.

MUST HAVE EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE WITHIN AN EDM/WIRE EDM ENVIRONMENT AND RELIABLE WITH FULL COMPETENCE IN THIS SECTOR OF EDM/SPARK/WIRE EROSION.

WE ARE A SMALL TEAM OF SKILLED ENGINEERS THAT WORK CLOSELY TOGETHER.

CORE SKILLS:

• GOOD KNOWLEDGE SETTING PARTS USING CLOCK
• 2D CAD EXPERIENCE ALTHOUGH TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN
• ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET ENGINEERING DRAWINGS THEN TRANSLATING TO SETTING UP PARTS ON MACHINES IS A NECESSITY
• ABILITY TO PROGRAMME, SET AND OPERATE VARIOUS EDM/WIRE MACHINES
• PROFICIENT IN WORKING TO TIGHT LIMITS/TOLERANCES AND FINISHES WITH A HIGH LEVEL OF ACCURACY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL
• BEING CAPABLE IN SHOP FLOOR MEASURING EQUIPMENT
• EXCELLENT AWARENESS OF HEALTH AND SAFETY ASPECTS AT WORK
• WORK WELL UNDER PRESSURE AS VERY BUSY SECTIONS

SALARY NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON SKILL LEVEL

HOURS OF WORK:

• MON - THURS 6.45 TO 4.00
• FRI 6.45AM - 11.45AM
• OVERTIME AS AND WHEN REQUIRED @ TIME 1/3, WEEKENDS TIME 1/2
